Packaging suppliers on our network deliver in all nine provinces, from the industrial parks of the East Rand and Pretoria to Durban's port and Pinetown's factories, Cape Town's Epping and Montague Gardens, the motor industry around Gqeberha, Free State grain towns, Lowveld and Limpopo packhouses and the mining towns of the North West and Northern Cape. Choose your province or town to read about local packaging needs and request quotes.
Gauteng
Gauteng is the country's biggest packaging market, driven by manufacturers, food processors, distribution centres and online shops. Industrial areas such as Isando, Spartan and Jet Park on the East Rand, Wadeville and Germiston, Midrand and Rosslyn near Pretoria hold factories, warehouses and many box makers and packaging suppliers. Buyers range from large retailers moving pallets to small businesses sending parcels by courier from Soweto, Centurion and the West Rand. Demand covers corrugated cartons, pallet wrap, courier bags, food containers and printed boxes. Because the province sits on the Highveld, products travel inland to the rest of the country and north to neighbouring markets, so strong cartons matter.

Mpumalanga
Mpumalanga packs and ships a mix of fresh produce, timber products and industrial goods. The Lowveld around Mbombela, White River and Hazyview grows citrus, subtropical fruit, macadamias and vegetables that move in cartons, trays and bags, while forestry around Sabie and Graskop supplies timber and paper. On the Highveld, eMalahleni, Middelburg, Secunda and Ermelo support coal, steel and chemical operations, with spare parts and bulk goods needing strong protective packaging. Many buyers collect from suppliers in Mbombela and eMalahleni, or order from Gauteng, which is a few hours away by road. Produce exporters usually ship through Maputo, Richards Bay or Durban, so packaging has to hold up on long trips.
North West
North West packaging demand comes from mining, farming and a growing group of small manufacturers and traders. Platinum and other mines around Rustenburg and Klerksdorp buy pallet wrap, drums, bags and protective packaging for spares and supplies, often delivered along dusty roads. Farms across the maize belt near Lichtenburg and Potchefstroom need bags, bulk packaging and cartons for grain, sunflower and livestock products. Brits, Hartbeespoort and Mahikeng have food producers, retailers and small online sellers who send parcels by courier. Most buyers order from suppliers in Rustenburg, Potchefstroom and Klerksdorp or from Gauteng, which lies close to the east. Distances between towns are long, so planning stock levels saves emergency trips.
Limpopo
Limpopo is a major source of fresh produce, minerals and livestock products, and each needs the right packaging. Citrus, mangoes, avocados, tomatoes and macadamias from Tzaneen, Hoedspruit, Letsitele and Mokopane are packed in cartons, trays and bags in packhouses and sent to market or to ports. Mines around Phalaborwa, Mokopane and Lephalale buy pallet wrap and industrial packaging, while Polokwane serves as the main commercial centre for retailers, food producers and online sellers. Some packaging suppliers operate in Polokwane, but many buyers order from Gauteng or the Lowveld. Distances are long and summer heat is intense, so cartons and film must handle warm storage and trucking.
Northern Cape
The Northern Cape is the largest and least populated province, and its packaging demand follows mining and farming. Iron ore and manganese operations near Kathu, Kuruman and Postmasburg buy protective packaging, pallet wrap and bags, while Kimberley is a service and trading centre. Along the Orange River near Upington, table grapes, dates and raisins are packed in cartons and punnets for export, with the grape season placing heavy pressure on supply. Springbok and the west coast add some fishing and mineral work. The province has few local packaging suppliers, so most orders come from Gauteng, the Free State or Cape Town and travel very long distances. Early ordering is important.
Free State
The Free State is South Africa's grain heartland, and maize, wheat, sunflower and livestock shape much of its packaging demand. Farms and mills across the province, from Kroonstad and Bethlehem to Harrismith, buy woven and paper bags, bulk packaging and pallet wrap. Sasolburg is a chemicals and industrial centre needing drums, containers and protective packaging, while Bloemfontein and Welkom have food producers, retailers, wholesalers and online sellers. Cherries and other fruit grown near Ficksburg and Clarens add seasonal cartons and trays. Some suppliers are based in Bloemfontein, and many orders come from Gauteng, which is close by road. Winters are cold and dry, but summer storms can wet stock left outside.
KwaZulu-Natal
KwaZulu-Natal combines the busy Port of Durban with strong farming and manufacturing. Industrial areas such as Prospecton, Jacobs, Pinetown and New Germany host factories, warehouses and many packaging suppliers, while Richards Bay handles bulk exports and has its own industrial zone. Sugar on the North and South Coast, forestry and paper, vegetables, and food and beverage producers all need packaging. Importers and exporters in Durban buy cartons, pallet wrap and protective packaging for containers, and online shops ship parcels from Umhlanga and Pietermaritzburg. The humid coast, with its warm summers, puts pressure on board and tape, so stronger materials and dry storage matter for stock waiting to ship.
Eastern Cape
The Eastern Cape's packaging demand centres on the motor industry, ports and farming. Gqeberha and Kariega host vehicle plants and a large group of component makers, with the Coega special economic zone and port adding export and logistics work. East London has its own motor and industrial base, and its harbour handles trade. Citrus in the Sundays River Valley, pineapples near Port Alfred and chicory, wool and livestock inland are packed for local and export markets. Component makers and exporters need returnable and protective packaging, pallet wrap and strong cartons. Several suppliers are based in Gqeberha and East London, with other stock from Cape Town and Gauteng. Windy coastal conditions affect outdoor loading.
Western Cape
The Western Cape packs and exports a great deal of fruit, wine, food and manufactured goods. Citrus, table grapes, apples, pears and stone fruit from Paarl, Worcester, Stellenbosch and Ceres go through packhouses and then the Port of Cape Town, needing cartons, trays and pallet wrap. Epping, Montague Gardens, Bellville and Atlantis hold factories, wholesalers and many packaging suppliers. Wine producers buy bottles, cartons and dividers, while George and the Garden Route add food, retail and online selling. Cape Town's online shops send parcels by courier all over the country. Hot, dry summers speed the fruit season, and winter rain can dampen board, so dry storage and strong cartons matter.
